Meet Alem Boukadoum, Founder + CEO of ADG Venture Group | Faros Health Advisor
A Little About My Background
After graduating from UT with a degree in Computer Science, I went to work for Ernst & Young, where I quickly realized two things — large organizations weren’t for me, and entrepreneurship was my true passion.
Studying in Austin immersed me in a thriving tech scene, where companies like Apple, Dell, and Microsoft were built from ideas. This exposure encouraged me to leave E&Y and venture out on my own to co-found a software company, Atrana Solutions. After ten years, my partners and I sold the company to Alliance Data Systems (now Global Payments). I spent the next eight years at a boutique investment firm focused on mergers and acquisitions.
My love for listening to people’s dreams and ideas and helping them figure out how to make it happen drove me to start my own firm nearly eight years ago. At ADG Venture Group, we offer transaction advisory and consulting services focused primarily in the tech, healthcare, and infrastructure sectors.
Why I Chose to Be Part of the Faros Health Journey
Having been involved in healthcare transactions for the past ten years, I understand the space and its complexities well. While I don’t typically engage with many early-stage companies, occasionally something comes across my desk that stands out, and Faros Health was one of those exceptions.
For me, it’s not just about having a great idea—it’s about having the discipline and leadership to create value and make a real impact. When I met Austin Browning, Co-Founder + CEO of Faros Health, he checked these boxes and more. Austin’s commitment to doing good in all things aligns perfectly with what we stand for at ADG. When we see an entrepreneur like him, we get excited.
My Role as a Faros Health Advisor
As an entrepreneur who has been there and done that —founded, run, and sold a business, I act as a sounding board as a business leader, advisor, and mentor. I’m always thinking about how to maximize value and impact. The foundational decisions we make today will shape our ability to serve patients, transform the healthcare space, and ultimately impact the value of Faros Health.
Some of the Best Advice I’ve Received
Do the things you love and where you excel, ideally those things that only you can do. Then, find other people to do everything else. By focusing on areas where you can add the most value, you spend your time focused on your highest and best use.
What Excites Me Most About Faros Health
Healthcare isn’t a zero-sum game. When Faros Health’s solution is implemented and used effectively, it will reflect better care, lower costs (for employers and employees), and a less stressful experience navigating healthcare for patients and their loved ones. I’m particularly excited about the opportunity to highlight the best practitioners in the industry, driving transparency, better quality, and lower cost while returning employees to work faster.
Final Thoughts
I believe Faros Health will make a lasting impact on the healthcare landscape, transforming how we access and consume care. I’m proud to be part of this journey.
